Here we are, the last Newsletter of the year! It has been a busy year for our ranger, Mark Williams and the Society's work party - all for the benefit of our visitors and regular walkers. We are having a break for Christmas so on behalf of the Nature Reserve Society committee and myself I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in 2007.
Don't forget our final event of this year - the annual Yuletide Ramble on Sunday, 10 December, 10am-12 noon. Complimentary mulled wine and mince pies in the Village Hall afterwards.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Memberships
There are currently 77 paid-up members of the Society, including 11 new households who have joined thanks to Jel and Dawn Tyler generously publishing our membership form in the Noak Bridge Connection, and also to the sterling leafleting efforts of member Renee Pryke. A membership form is attached for those 2005/6 members who have not yet renewed. If you wish to enquire about membership please contact Weed (Membership Secretary) at 44 Lower Street, telephone number 01268 289577, or Janet Bircham (Secretary) at 42 Crouch Street.
(More info on the Society's web page.)
The Society has an extensive collection of photographs, most of them taken by our Chair, Betty Haynes. These have now been scanned and it is hoped to add the more interesting ones to the gallery pages of the web site over the next few months. The photographs include some of the wildlife and some pictures of the work party activities. However, more photographs are welcome so if you have any that you would like to share, please send them in. Sightings of unusual plants and animals can be recorded in our section of the Forum at noakbridge.net to which everyone is welcome to contribute.
Work Parties
No Work Party in December 2006. Thank you to all the new participants who have joined us this year. We would like to see even more of our members coming along in the New Year. Please look for our notices on our notice board at the Eastfield Road entrance and in the Chemist's shop
window. Next Work Party - Wednesday, 17 January 2007, 1pm - 3pm.
Dogs
If you have been threatened or frightened by unleashed dogs in the reserve please write down the date, time, details of the occurence and call the dog warden at 01268-294280 or Betty Haynes at 01268-531365.
