The pictures above are not current. The photo of Puckles Pond was taken before the pond-dipping platform was built. The summer water levels in all the ponds in the Reserve dropped considerably between 2004 and 2009, but rose again in 2010. If they dry up completely, BDC Countryside Services are committed to digging new ponds to provide habitats for the many aquatic and semi-aquatic species living in and visiting the Reserve.
The first five photos below were taken in March 2013, after heavier than usual rain in the previous months had left the ground water-logged. The sixth photo, Willow Pond (dry), was taken in July 2017.
